Let's Get Lost Together ♥

 

When we asked Susannah and Rob what locations would be special to them for their engagement session, the Saint Vrain Canyon in Lyons immediately popped into their mind. They enjoy the outdoors and this particular place is one of their favorites. They are from out of town love to explore Colorado together.

 

 

 

Susannah is a photographer which is awesome because she sure knew how to pick a picture-perfect location!  She wanted a mix of artsy, fun and romantic images that show who they are as a newly engaged couple. We made sure to include some vintage cameras from her collectin and their adorable doggie, Chloe. So cute!

A Date Downtown ♥

 

Winter is the perfect time to do funky, urban photos because you don't have to rely on nature for backgrounds. When Raeann & Mike mentioned that they wanted a more modern look for their engagement photos we opted for downtown Denver.

 

 

 

 

 

Raeann and Mike love the city. We had such a great time following them around town, stopping by their favorite and memorable spots. It makes me feel good to know that these photos will be treasured for a lifetime.

Highschool Sweethearts ♥

I'm so excited to finally post these images! :)

 

This post is special to Jenny and I because this newly-engaged couple are my sister and her boyfriend. Guess who got to shoot their engagement photos?! :)

 

 

Kaitlin and Joey have known each other since attending Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado. Since the school has such special meaning to them, we decided to do their engagement photos around the campus.

 

 

I have always known that they started dating sophomore year... but what I did not know, until this shoot, was that Joey asked her out while they were at the gas station across the street during lunch.

 

 

 

Since Kaitlin is my little sister, I have been protective of her my whole life. Not just any guy was going to marry my sister. Well, Joey is not just any guy. He is smart, thoughtful, caring and loyal. They are a perfect pair. They have been through a lot together and were each other's rock along the way. Joey has been an integral part of our family for years and now we are so thrilled it's going to be official. :)

 

 

We love you guys so much and cannot wait for the wedding. ♥

 

One Fine Fall Day ♥

We had a great time with Allison & Pedro a few weeks ago when we did their engagement session. They are a beautiful couple and they were really into the shoot! They were natural posers and hardly needed direction at all.

They had specific ideas for backgrounds; fall colors, water, bridges and mountains. We gave them some ideas for locations so they could scope them out before our shoot. We decided on Boulder since it has all of the desired backgrounds within 5 minutes of each other.

Oh how we ♥ Boulder. :)

 

Pedro is from Brazil and he met Allison while at the Denver Zoo. Isn't that a cute (and unique) place to meet?! We love hearing the stories about our clients. Every couple has it's special story and it's never a dull one!

 

 

We are very excited to capture Allison & Pedro's wedding next summer at Hudson Gardens!

A day in the life of Angie and Jeff

We met Angie and Jeff last spring at a bookstore and chatted all afternoon about their wedding in June 2011. They explained to us that an engagement session was just as important to them as the actual wedding photography and that they wanted to do a really modern, fun, engagement shoot. This is a really exciting time in their lives and wanted to show who they are as a couple.

We were thrilled about the idea! We decided to follow them around on a date featuring their favorite places around town in a more photojournalist style.

First stop, Red Rocks. The couple wanted to really show off Colorado's natural red terrain. We hiked around the rocks and enjoyed the beautiful summer weather.

So....... Angie and Jeff are apparently supermodels. No big deal. ;)

We made a quick stop by City Park for a stroll by the lake. Denver has such a pretty skyline.

Golfing at sunset, so romantic! Jeff and Angie love golf so we headed to City Park golf course to hit a few. Angie also made a fabulous caddy.

Next stop, the 16th Street Mall.... where there just happed to be a piano painted with the word, 'love'.... and Angie could play it!!  It was meant to be. :)

After a long day exploring the city we ended up at 5degrees for a drink. Angie and Jeff have good memories in this club having a lot of time there together. The place is decorated so cool! As you can see, we had a great time.

Thank you, Angie and Jeff, for the opportunity to work woth you! Your shoot really allowed us to break out of our mold and use multiple techniques. We are so excited we get to be at your wedding.
